La Pierre a Bosson

Starting from Argentiere this walk is of medium difficulty offering a splendid view of the Argentiere glacier.

The walk is approximately 7.5km and should take around 2 hours of walking time to complete. Starting at around 1230m altitude the route is essentially a 450m ascent to a viewing platform beneath the Argentiere glacier.

From Chamonix Argentiere can be reached by the Mont Blanc express train from the main train station or via bus from Place du Mont Blanc, or alternatively, by car simply by heading up the N506, there is usually plenty of parking available in the Grand Montets cablecar carpark. If travelling by train, leave the station and turn left onto the main road (N506) and follow the road down the hill, after passing underneath a railway bridge go down the set of steps on the left onto a road leading into a set of tall buildings, follow the road round to the right and then to the left going over the bridge and arriving at the Grand Montets cable car.
